EXIT DMC
EXIT DMC
That's all folks... This year is my final year with the mighty DMC company. It's been 10 years when I first entered the DMC stage in 2002's heats in Birmingham and returned in 04's Elimination (Leicester/Derby), 05's Elimination (Birmingham/Derby), 07's Elimination (Birmingham) and 09's Battle For Uk Supremacy's Finalist (London). I came 3rd in the Leicester Heats and happy that I was one of the 3 winners for my final battle. It's been a great ride as I remember being a young boy watching the TV and seeing DJ Cash Money, Cut Master Swift, DJ Reckless and other turntablists in the late 80's saying to myself I wanna be like those guys. I started DJing at the age 15 and made a name for myself (Busta Skratch) the following year but it was in 1998 that I started to learn turntablism full time and became Psykhomantus in 1999. That's also the same year I met the whole crew A Few Good Men ( I knew Roc 1 in 96 and met E Double D in 97, Rhize i met in the group) and practice with them but I wasn't a member of the group then as I wanted to do my own thing. The late 90's, turntablism was at it's peck, The X-Ecutioners, Invisbl Skratch Piklz were the top groups, Scratch Perverts, The Allies were making noise, The BeatJunkies and 5th Platoon and other groups became big too. Battling was getting bigger and better. After my first attempted in 2002s heat, the doors stared to open for other things, I did my first theatre show in 2003 showcasing my turntablism skills on bigger stages and manage to still do theatre production up to this day, DJ workshops and I also do gigs at music festivals plus promote my own club nights. I've become the dream that I wanted to be, I may not have won the Gold Technics 1210s but I've became bigger than that, and that's having a name for myself and is DJ Psykhomantus. I will continue to rock and entertain the world as long as I can live.
