J Rocc For (Funky) President Edition mixed by Psykhomantus

J. Rocc (founder of the California turntablists DJ group The Beat Junkies) is one of the dopest DJ’s on the planet to have ever rock the turntables. He began DJing in the mid-'80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. In addition to numerous mixtapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib's live shows since the early 2000's, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group's live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla.

Now that J Rocc is about to drop his debut album “Cold Rock Stuf” for Stone Throw Records in April, I put together this 40 minute non-stop breaks mixtape of some of J Rocc’s 12’-inch releases, remixes, bonus beats and unreleased tracks, so you can get a little taste of whats to come.

The Rob Swift Mixtape The Architect's Work

Yes! People. March is here and it can only get better. So far so good, it’s been awhile as I’ve been busy putting on gig’s in the midlands and putting the fun back into Hip Hop. Apart from doing gig’s it is time to get my mixtapes game back on. In Jan I dropped the “Tablist With Soul, Vol 2” mix which gives you a taste of what I play every week at Leicester’s Turkey CafĂ© on a Saturday evening. Next up is dedicated to all the turntablists. If you like cutting and scratching then this one’s for you. “The Rob Swift Mixtape: The Architects Work.” Is full of dope beats to make your neck snap and some nice smooth cuts that melt in your ears. Here you’ll hear X-Men/X-Ecutioners DJ Rob Swift’s solo joint’s along with a few callob’s from his solo albums “The Ablist”, “Sound Event”, “War Game’s”, and “The Architect’s Work’ to some unheard or hard to find joints. This mix features Supernatural, DJ Melo, J-Live, Akinyele, DJ Q-Bert, Shortkut, D-Styles, Bob James, DJ Klever, Rahzel even Shannyn Sossaman and more. If you liked my X-Ecution Of A Bum Rush (X-Ecutioners Edition), which is also on soundcloud, then you’ll love this. Also Peep out Rob Swift’s new movie “DJ Rob Swift: Live The Documented Movement. Every good movie comes with a soundtrack.
